Sal Akram joined Fairchild in 2013 as the vice president of technology. Under Akram, Fairchild is pushing technology boundaries by developing low-loss switching devices for voltage levels ranging from 12V to 1700V, including FETs and IGBT as well as SiC-based devices. Akram’s organization also develops semiconductor process technology for analog mixed signal ICs, focusing on best-in-class for performance and emphasizing time to market.
Previously, Akram worked at Philips as the senior director of technology, and also served as director of technology with Maxim Integrated Products.
Akram received his MBA from Boise State University and his Ph.D in electrical engineering at Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute.
