Do not call him John… he will be fired. John “JC” Chilson is not allowed to be called John because he was hired under the sole condition that we never address him by his given name [there are already too many Johns at MoPR].
JC has been involved in publishing and communications since an early age. As a kid he would accompany his dad to his newspaper job on Saturdays and would intently stare at the AP telex machine for breaking news.
Nowadays, JC just subscribes to numerous RSS feeds to get most of his news although he still buys stacks of magazines and newspapers – that’s one habit that he’s not giving up.
A big music fan [and drummer - his band once opened for Chuck Berry] JC also blogs about local history, likes to cook, spend time with his family and has watched the Twilight Zone Marathon every year since 1980.
Q. What’s your favorite gadget?
A. I love our Comcast DVR [but am hoping they replace it with TiVo soon]. I’m also enjoying my new iPhone. It lets me surf the web and check email – while driving. [Just kidding. Sort of.]
Q. Favorite movie genre?
Movies with zombies, talking apes, le French New Wave and American noir (though I refuse to pronounce it “nwah”).
