<description>Shozu had sent me a press release about the Paris Hilton video (their technology made her video possible in downloading straight to youtube). As if my measely 2000 daily readers would want to read a press release or hear about the new Paris Singing Barbie…

I told Shozu that I would incorporate their technology into blogs. They dropped the ball.

Why?

As a blogger who gets paid by my day job to write a corporate blog, I’m also an unpaid blogger for my entertainment blog… so where does that leave me when PR companies want free promos? Just writing for free on topics that I didn’t pick?

One company wants to run a contest on my site. So?

Although I love reading many PR blogs, I find it funny how many companies like Shozu won’t cross promote bloggers who want to grow traffic in the new world scenario where marketing can affect individual blogs and the realm of myspace and youtube.

It’s just plain scary to a PR company. “You want cross promotion? What?”

“Sorry, I don’t work for a magazine where I get paid to write reviews.”

Just food for thought as you guys fight your way for press for the articles you need to promote the products you represent.

There’s a new world scenario. Reviews aren’t just good or bad, reviews can simply show off aspects of how consumers can connect to the world via products, technology, etc…

OK, I’m done pontificating. See what Paris Hilton does to people??
