Stevie Awards were handed out in categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement, and Women Helping Women at the gala event at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel on November 13. More than 1,100 entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
Chagnon was recognized with the Best Executive Stevie Award for successfully positioning Bitstream as a leading company in the mobile and wireless space. Credited with advancing Bitstream’s existing technologies and developing new innovative technologies, Chagnon has led Bitstream’s charge to truly change the face of the mobile market with its BOLT™ mobile browser.
With the introduction of BOLT, Bitstream has proved to be front and center in innovation and has driven the adoption of the mobile Internet. Since its introduction, over 2.6 million BOLT accounts have been created, with as many as 2.5 million pages being served up each day.
The BOLT mobile browser, built to be used on a wide range of mobile phones from simple “feature” phones to more advanced devices such as BlackBerry smartphones, has averaged greater than 50 percent growth in usage each month since the application made its public debut at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this past February.
“Winning this award is testimony to the hard work and dedication of the team making Bitstream a leader in developing technologies which have enhanced the lives of our users,” said Anna Chagnon, CEO of Bitstream. “I thank my colleagues and family for their support and look forward to another year of positive milestones in advancing the mobile market.”
