Mobility Public Relations today announced that it has been awarded Outstanding Achievement in Website Development by Interactive Media Awards™ for its work on MobilityWire®, a proprietary social newswire service the agency built for its clients. Mobile technology companies around the globe use MobilityWire to distribute company news to targeted trade media and make the news easily discoverable online. This Interactive Media Award recognizes that MobilityWire met and surpassed the standards of excellence that comprise the Web’s most professional work. The site was honored specifically for excellence in Public Relations.

The judging consisted of various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content. In order to win this award level, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a fraction of sites in the Interactive Media Award competition earn each quarter.

“Delivering value to both clients and the media is key to success as a PR agency,” said John Sidline, managing partner at Mobility Public Relations. “Mobility Public Relations developed our MobilityWire social media newswire to help clients cast a wide net to media targets, create a permanent home for their news online, and provide journalists, bloggers and analysts with all the resources they need to cover our clients’ news. To be recognized by the Interactive Media Awards for MobilityWire is another important validation for the innovation we’re bringing to the practice of quality public relations.”

BOLT earns double honors for Overall Consumer Mobile Application and Service Delivery Platform

The BOLT™ Mobile Browser from Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS) has been named Runner Up in the 2010 Mobile Merit Awards in two categories: Best Overall Consumer Mobile Application and Best Service Delivery Platform. Recognizing companies, individuals and technologies that have shaped the way in which the world communicates, the 2010 Mobile Merit Awards program notes the excellence achieved in the global mobile industry.

Through nominations judged by an impressive list of mobile industry executives and members of the media, the Mobile Merit Awards are presented to outstanding companies for technologies within the mobile arena that will have the greatest impact on the market. The 2010 Mobile Merit Awards judges honored products, individuals, and technologies based on their industry impact, innovation, social importance, implementation and overall success factor. The Mobile Merit Award submission categories covered all aspects of mobility including: devices, infrastructure, applications, social/digital medium, 4G technologies, mobile marketing, and media.

“These Mobile Merit Awards for BOLT are further recognition of the hard work and commitment of the Bitstream development and engineering team,” said Anna Magliocco-Chagnon, president and CEO of Bitstream. “2010 has already been a year of many important milestones for BOLT as we are surpassing 35,000 downloads a day on average, totaling over 7.8 million downloads to date. The latest version, BOLT 2.1, which we released late last month, is the most fully-featured release yet, and we look forward to feedback from our active user base as we are constantly making improvements to truly make BOLT the crowd favorite.”

The BOLT mobile browser was named runner up in the Best Overall Consumer Application category, a tribute to the popular cross platform app with millions of users across BlackBerry Smartphones , and all levels of Java-based mobile phones. The industry’s most fully featured mobile browser for phones of all types, BOLT is downloaded by more than 30,000 people around the world each day.

BOLT earned a second runner up award for Best Service Delivery Platform. BOLT’s server middleware provides carriers with the ability to better manage data consumption on their networks by compressing data up to 24:1 and using as little as 4 percent what a standard mobile browser would use, while at the same time delivering a superior Web browsing experience for handset manufacturers and their users.

“B2 Group is pleased to judge and participate in this year’s Mobile Merit Awards showcasing our thought leadership in the mobile industry by selecting companies, like Bitstream, that we feel represent the innovation taking place in the mobile market today,” said judge Bob Bilbruck, Managing Director B2 Group/ Mobiletain. “We congratulate all participants in the Mobile Merit Awards this year and look forward to seeing more great entries next year.”

Other notable 2010 Mobile Merit Award winners include GoTV Networks, Research in Motion, Nokia, Sybase 365, Sprint-Nextel, DeviceAnywhere, and Telepicture/TMZ.

The E-Tech Awards ceremony took place on March 24 during International CTIA WIRELESS 2010® in Las Vegas. The awards program recognized products in 15 categories in the areas of consumer electronics, luxury mobile, applications, enterprise, green solutions and network technology.

“CTIA WIRELESS marked three key milestones for the BOLT Mobile Browser,” said Anna Magliocco-Chagnon, president and CEO of Bitstream. “Our adoption rate recently surpassed 25,000 new users per day, adding more than 1 million users in the month leading up to CTIA. During CTIA Bitstream announced the beta of BOLT 2.0, our newest browser that adds tabbed browsing to what is already the most fully-featured mobile browser in the market. But to have been selected as the best entertainment and social networking mobile application in the most prestigious industry award in North America by such an august panel of judges is true recognition for the hard work, innovation and imagination of Bitstream’s developers and engineers.”

CTIA E-Tech Awards winners were announced at a ceremony hosted by Robert Mesirow, vice president and show director for CTIA and Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies. More than 80 prominent media and industry analysts judged the entries based on innovation, functionality, technological importance, implementation and the overall “wow” factor.

“This year’s E-Tech Awards showcased the latest must-have products available for both consumers and the enterprise – from innovative applications, to green technology and luxury products,” said Heather Lee Landers, assistant vice president of marketing for CTIA. “We congratulate Bitstream on receiving a CTIA E-Tech Award.”

As part of a customer reference program, Mobility PR works with you to check in with your customers and sales team to get feedback on how things are going, collect data such as ROI, and to hear about interesting usage stories. Based on this feedback, Mobility PR develops case studies, either around a single user story or a group of anecdotes, which is then used to pitch our media targets.

Case studies written from the customer’s point of view, rather than from your company’s perspective, paints the person inside the customer’s company responsible for implementing your solution as a hero.

Case studies are complement other elements of a customer reference program, and can be leveraged for awards and speaking opportunities too.
